הרב מכהן כרב קהילה בדרום ת"א. בנוסף מנהל בי"ד לממונות דרכי משפט תל אביב, מגייר בשיתוף עם בי"ד לגיור של משרד ראש הממשלה.
בעל הסמכה ידין ידין מטעם איגוד רבני קהילות וכן מבי"ד שערי הלכה ומשפט בראשותו של הרה"ג שלמה בארי שליט"א.
בוגר תוכנית רבני קהילות של מרכז ברקאי להכשרת רבנים ופיתוח קהילות.

בעל תואר ראשון בחינוך והוראה מטעם מכללת אורות ישראל.

הרב בנה והקים את ביה"כ שלום בדרום ת"א. (נוסד בשנת 1953)
ביה"כ פעל בעבר רק בימי שבת בבוקר.  היום ביה"כ פעיל כמעט בכל שעות היממה עם תפילות כסדרן.
יש בביה"כ 3 כוללים: הלכה, דיינות וקבלה וכן מדרשיה לנערים.
ביה"כ משמש מרכז רוחני לכל האיזור. 
הרב עוסק בשאלות הלכתיות בנושאים שונים ומגוונים וכן ביעוץ לפני נישואין ובדיקת יהדות.

The Barkai Center for Practical Rabbinics aims to improve the fabric of Israeli society by intensively training Israeli rabbis in all aspects of communal rabbinics so that they can lead their communities to a more meaningful connection with Judaism and act as a unifying force in Israeli society.
