הרב יגאל אביטבול הינו בוגר ישיבת בני עקיבא “נווה הרצוג” באשדוד.
את השכלתו התורנית רכש בישיבת “מרכז הרב” בירושלים, בה הוסמך לרבנות, וכן הוכשר להוראה, כהשלמה לכך, למד בכולל “זיו” לר”מים בירושלים.
בזמן לימודיו בישיבה שירת בצה"ל במסגרת 'הסדר מרכז הרב', בחיל התותחנים כחייל קרבי.
בשנות לימודיו ב”מרכז הרב” העביר שיעורים בישיבה התיכונית “נהורא” במבוא חורון, וכן חוגים תורניים לילדי “תלמוד תורה – נועם” בירושלים. לימד חוגי “הכנה לחיים” לתלמידי השמינית בישיבה התיכונית “נחלים”, וערך שיעורים קבוצתיים לתלמידי השמינית של ישיבת “נהורא” בביתו.

כיום משמש כראש כולל הלכה ישיבת ההסדר ראשון לציון ורב קהילת בית הכנסת הספרדי במבוא חורון.

The Barkai Center for Practical Rabbinics aims to improve the fabric of Israeli society by intensively training Israeli rabbis in all aspects of communal rabbinics so that they can lead their communities to a more meaningful connection with Judaism and act as a unifying force in Israeli society.
