ב"מרכז ברקאי" להכשרת רבני קהילה, קראו הבוקר (ב') לרבני הקהילות לקחת מנהיגות ולצאת אל הקהילות בהבהרה: "דמנו רותח על רצח נערינו, וליבנו דואב עליהם,

ואולם רצח הנער הערבי - אין לו מקום ברוח היהודית, ואין דבר כזה רצח בשם האלוקים". עוד הוסיפו מנהלי המרכז, הרב דוד פיין והרב שלמה סובול, כי "רב בעת הזו הוא בעל השפעה עצומה ורבה, ולכן על הרבנים להתייחס למצב ולומר דברים ברורים".
