What is the law concerning a type of non-kosher fish that was changed genetically so that it now has fins and scales? Is one permitted to purchase and drink milk in Guatemala? How does one Kasher a factory that produces raw materials for food when the factory is the size of a small city?

In a unique course in Kashrut the Barkai rabbis learned about modern food production and the challenges for Kashrut that it raises.

The course was given by well-known specialists in Kashrut such as Rav Vitman, the Rav of Tnuvah dairy, Rav Vulcan, a specialist in the genetics of fish, Rav Globerger, a specialist in the production of raw materials and others.

The rabbis conveyed the information to their communities and emphasized to them that kashrut in the modern world is something that is constantly changing and therefore one must constantly be updated by Kashrut experts.
