fine knessetMember of Knesset Yehuda Glick recently hosted a unique conference at the Knesset on the topic of marriage education. A number of countries that have invested public funds in marriage education to engaged and newly married couples have seen eventual financial savings due to the lessened amount of divorces. Marriage education, as opposed to marriage counseling,
is meant to be offered to all engaged couples so as to prevent any later marital issues. The conference was organized by Together in Happiness, a non profit organization that encourages marriage education in Israel founded and run by Susan Barth.

The conference was attended by knesset members, marriage education experts and many non profit groups that are engaged in this area. The keynote speaker, who via Skype from Colorado was Professor Howard Markman, a professor of Psychology at the University of Denver, director of its Center for Marital and Family Studies and a pioneer of premarital education in the US. Rabbi Fine addressed the conference and talked about Barkai's plans to institute training for Barkai rabbis in the area of marriage education.
