Last month, the Barkai Center was informed that for the third year it received a modest amount of governmental funding. Barkai was the only organization of its kind to receive this funding from the Ministry in 2019. This was after an intense examination of all of Barkai’s plans, records and financial viability by the Ministry’s staff. Barkai is profoundly grateful to the State of Israel and specifically to the Ministry of Religious Affairs and its staff for the trust that it has put in Barkai to assist in training future generations of Israeli community rabbinic leaders.
