Participants in Barkai’s sixth rabbinical training program recently completed a comprehensive course about the art of public speaking. Taught by Guy Yariv, the director of The School for Public Speaking and an international debate champion, the hands-on course covered a range of practical topics, such as how to organize a speech ahead of time, different elements of delivering and structuring a speech, how to field questions from the audience, and speaking under pressure, among other things.

Beyond teaching the rudiments of public speaking, the course also offered a lot of practical guidance and personalized direction, including specific feedback about each participant’s speaking style and tips to improve. Participants noted that the course was exceptionally helpful, and that they have already begun to implement the different methods and techniques and are especially pleased with the results.
