The wives of the rabbis have also been having their own monthly meetings so as to discuss and learn about what it means to be the wife of a rabbi. The first meeting was with Rabbanit Nechama Ariel who spoke about her long experience in being the wife of a rabbi. The second meeting was on the topic of personal coaching with Hodaya Amor, one of the pioneers of coaching in Israel. The third meeting was a seminar with the Ministry of Diaspora Affairs on the future of the Jewish people (similar to the seminar that the rabbis also had). The fourth meeting was on the topic of gynecology and fertility with Dr. Hagit Daum, Specialist in Gynecology and Clinical Genetics at Hadassah Hospital. The next session featured Rabbanit Shulamit Ben Shaya who spoke on sexuaity. The group also serves as a support group for the women who often feel alone as rabbaniot in their communities. The monthly meeting will continue to the end of the year.

The Barkai Center for Practical Rabbinics aims to improve the fabric of Israeli society by intensively training Israeli rabbis in all aspects of communal rabbinics so that they can lead their communities to a more meaningful connection with Judaism and act as a unifying force in Israeli society.
