Hours of Training

marriageTwenty two of the Barkai rabbis recently concluded an optional 30 hour course in marriage counseling that was given by Yanar College based in Jerusalem. A special graduation ceremony took place, following the course's final lecture last week at the Rabbi Kook Home and Museum in Jerusalem where the rabbis who completed the course received certificates from Yanar College. The certificates were distributed by Deputy Defense Minister Rabbi Eli Ben Dahan and Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, Rabbi Aryeh Stern. Both Rabbi Ben Dahan and Rabbi Stern spoke about the importance of the rabbi's role in helping marriages. Following the ceremony, the rabbis were treated to a guided tour of The Rabbi Kook Home and Museum by its director, Rabbi Yochanan Fried.

The Barkai Center for Practical Rabbinics aims to improve the fabric of Israeli society by intensively training Israeli rabbis in all aspects of communal rabbinics so that they can lead their communities to a more meaningful connection with Judaism and act as a unifying force in Israeli society.
