הרב אריה גדל ברחובות, למד בישיבה התיכונית שעלבים, ולאחר מכן בישיבת ההסדר דימונה ובכולל ארץ חמדה.

הוסמך לרבנות בשנת תשס"ה, ולרבנות עיר בשנת תשס"ח וקיבל כושר דיינות בשנת תשע"א.

בנוסף נסמך לרבנות ודיינות ממורו ורבו הגאון הרב זלמן נחמיה גולדברג זצ"ל,

קיבל תואר ראשון בחינוך בתנ"ך ובתושב"ע מטעם מכללת ליפשיץ. 

ומשמש בנוסף כרב יועץ ופוסק וכמנהל המחלקה למחקר הלכתי וספרות במכון פוע"ה וראש כולל הדיינות בישיבת ברכת משה במעלה אדומים.

בעברו עבד גם באנציקלופדיה התלמודית בתור כותב ערכים
